Late Payment Policy
Midland Water is instituting a new policy regarding late or non-payment of water bills. It is important that everyone keep current on their bills so that we can afford to keep the system running.
The late fee has been raised to $20. Any outstanding balances owed on the first of the month will incur a late fee. Once your outstanding balance has reached $250, you will receive a 30-day shut-off notice along with a fee of $50 to cover the cost of issuing the notice. As stated in the by-laws, if your water is shut off, you will be charged a $50 disconnect fee and, when the account is paid in full, a reconnect fee of $25.
It is important to understand that it costs the district money to chase down payments. Paying your bill in full will avoid these extra costs and allow us to function efficiently.
